About the artist.
Emily Wolfe currently resides in the Northern Virginia area. She works as and art teacher and mother.
Her art education includes undergraduate work at Concordia University-Ann Arbor and Oakland University. As well as graduate work at Wayne State University and The Florence Academy of Art. Her background is in ceramics but her love has always been creating through paint. "I have been creating my whole life. I love every aspect of making something new. I began my artist career as a ceramic artist. But painting has always called to me, so in my graduate studies I began working almost exclusively on painting." Emily works with oil paints on canvas, primarily en plein air. She employs value, shape, and mass, striving to capture the essence of the place in which she is working. Although she paints anywhere she can, she is currently working on documenting the landscape and architecture of Northern Virginia. Emily's work has been featured at Concordia University's Annual International Art Show two times and was also a part of the Thumb Area Artist's Exhibit in 2018. Her work has also been on display at The Higher Gallery in Traverse City, MI, The Community House in Birmingham, and the Ann Arbor Art Center. Additionally, she has exhibited in small solo shows at Caffe Far Bella in St. Clair Shores MI, and at The Dovetail in Warren, Michigan. Emily is available to help you make a selection from the gallery of existing work. She is also available to take on commissions, either en plein air or from photograph.
